Obstetrics and Gynecology

Research Topics

  1. Study about the mechanism of hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis.
  2. Development of novel treatments for gynecologic cancers based on a cancer organoid library
  3. Development of a regional model for the centralization of perinatal care

Details

  1. Elucidate the regulatory mechanisms of hypothalamic factors such as kisspepin and GnRH that control reproductive function, as well as gonadotropin secretion and the feedback mechanisms mediated by estradiol. Investigate the effects of androgens on the HPG axis.
  2. Create organoids from tumor tissue to analyze the pathophysiology of cancer cells. Through whole-exome sequencing, genetic mutation analysis, and signaling pathway analysis, we aim to identify driver genes and therapeutic target molecules, elucidate the mechanisms of drug resistance, and develop new treatments.
  3. Against the backdrop of declining birth rates and a shortage of obstetric care resources in the region, we aim to establish a sustainable perinatal care delivery system by developing a model that balances the centralization of delivery services with the decentralization of prenatal checkups and postpartum care.
